What are your rights as an author?
Who is profiting from your publications?
Who has access to your work?
Do you hold copyright?
What is considered fair use?
These and other questions will be answered in a lecture by Lee Van Orsdel, dean of Grand Valley State University Libraries, on Thursday, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Kresge Library Auditorium.
This event is open to faculty and graduate students involved in research and publishing. Van Orsdel will focus on issues related to alternative methods of publishing, the rising price of journal subscriptions, protecting and retaining author’s rights, open access to research information and how these issues impact the process by which academics conduct and distribute their research.
For more information, contact Anne Hudson, Wayne State librarian, at email@example.com or 577-1168.
