Educause On-line @ WSU, October 13-15, 2010

Join your colleagues for interesting discussions, presentations, and conversation about IT in higher education.

Wayne State will be broadcasting select live sessions from the annual Educause Conference in Anaheim, California. Eighteen separate sessions are scheduled to air in the Technology Resource Center. Topics include: trends in teaching and learning technology, electronic textbooks, distance and distributed education, collaboration, cloud computing, IT funding strategies, mobile computing, and much more! Library System launches new mobile site

The Wayne State University Library System has recently launched its first ever web site designed exclusively for mobile touch devices. M.lib.wayne.edu allows patrons to access the features of the Library System website that they might find most useful while on the go. By going to library.wayne.edu or m.lib.wayne.edu, users will automatically be directed to the mobile site where they can look up library hours, check computer availability, browse the catalog, find out what’s new at the library and much more! For more advanced needs, the full site is still available by clicking the “full site” button.

Point your mobile device to m.lib.wayne.edu and give it a try!

Towers Residents: Play the Resource is Right on September 28 for fabulous prizes!

Towers residents: swing by the Towers Living Room on Tuesday, September 28 from 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. to play “The Resource is Right” with our librarians. Students will get together in groups to learn about library resources, answer questions and have a chance to win awesome Wayne State swag. Stop in and join in the fun!

Free Trial of Procedures Consult

The Shiffman Medical Library has arranged an institution-wide free trial of Procedures Consult for WSU faculty and students from Sept 13 to October 31, 2010.

Procedures Consult is the first online multimedia training and reference tool that helps physicians and residents prepare for, perform, follow up and test their knowledge of top medical procedures. Quick pointers can be reviewed right before doing the procedure; and complete detailed step-by-step information can be used for deeper study.
